Terms of Use
Effective: October 23, 2026
Welcome to Wild Lots. These terms cover your use of getwildlots.com and the Wild Lots newsletter (together, "Wild Lots"). Wild Lots is a property of Tall Oaks Ventures, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we," "us"). By using Wild Lots, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or newsletter.
Questions? Email hello@getwildlots.com.
What Wild Lots is
Wild Lots is a media site and free weekly email newsletter (sent every Tuesday at 7:00 AM ET) that spotlights unusual government surplus items listed for auction on public sites such as GSA Auctions and Public Surplus. We don't sell anything listed, run any auction, or take part in any sale. Every purchase happens on the source auction site, under that site's rules.
Who can use Wild Lots
You must be at least 13 to use Wild Lots or sign up for the newsletter. To buy a sponsorship, you must be at least 18 and buying for a business.
Not affiliated with any agency or auction site
Wild Lots is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any government agency, any selling agency, or any auction site, including GSA Auctions and Public Surplus.
Listings can change or be wrong
Listing details (bids, end times, condition, location, fees, pickup rules) come from public auction pages and can change at any moment. Our summaries can be out of date, incomplete, or wrong, and items may be withdrawn or sold before you see them.
Always verify every listing on the source auction site before you bid. Check the description, photos, terms, fees, inspection, and removal rules there. Nothing on Wild Lots is an offer, a guarantee about any item, or financial, legal, or investment advice.
Photos, AI images, and credits
- Listing photos and descriptions come from the selling agency or auction site; rights stay with whoever holds them. We show a "Photo: [Seller] via [Platform]" credit linking to the listing, and we may store a copy of a photo to make pages load reliably. We quote only a short excerpt of each listing description and leave out personal contact details; the full description, contacts, and terms are on the auction site.
- Some lots show an AI-generated illustration instead of a real photo. It's always labeled "AI image, not the actual item." It is not the real item and should never be relied on to judge it.
- The site's daily feed is assembled automatically from public listings with AI help. Newsletter issues and social posts are reviewed by a person before they go out.
Corrections, credits, and takedowns
If you own a photo or text shown on Wild Lots and want it credited differently or removed, email hello@getwildlots.com with the subject "Takedown" and the page link. We'll remove it, usually within one business day, from the site, our share images, and future emails. (We can't recall emails that were already sent.) We also fix factual errors; send corrections to the same address.
Copyright notices (DMCA). For material a sponsor uploaded, you can also send a notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) by email to hello@getwildlots.com or through the form on our Contact page. Your notice must include your signature, the work you claim is infringed, the page link, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner. If we remove material a sponsor uploaded, the sponsor may send a counter-notice as allowed by § 512(g). We end sponsorships for repeat infringers.
Our content
Our writing, design, logo, and the Wild Lots name belong to us (or are used with permission). You're welcome to share links and short quotes with credit. Please don't copy whole pages or newsletter issues, republish them, or scrape the site in bulk without written permission.
Using the site fairly
Please don't:
- misuse our signup form or links, or sign up other people without their permission;
- try to break, overload, or get around the security of the site;
- inflate sponsor link clicks with bots or scripts;
- use Wild Lots for anything unlawful.
We may block access or remove signups that break these rules.
Newsletter
The newsletter is free and email only. You only get it after you confirm your address through the link we email you. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave any time. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your email address.
Sponsors
Paid placements are labeled "Sponsored." Sponsored posts on our social accounts start with "#ad." Our own promos for sponsorships are labeled "House ad," not "Sponsored." Sponsors don't influence which lots we pick or how we rank them. Sponsors are responsible for their own ads and offers. Buying a sponsorship is covered by our separate Sponsor Terms.
Links to other sites
We link to auction sites, agencies, sponsors, and other websites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, products, terms, or privacy practices.
No warranties
Wild Lots is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including about accuracy, completeness, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tall Oaks Ventures, LLC and its owners, members, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses from any bid, purchase, or auction outcome, arising from your use of Wild Lots or reliance on anything on it.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Wild Lots is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100. Some places don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or intentional misconduct, or any liability that can't be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state courts in Palm Beach County, Florida, or the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court where you live, if it qualifies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Effective" date above, and for significant changes we may also post a notice on the site or in the newsletter. Continuing to use Wild Lots after a change means you accept the updated terms.
General
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part right away doesn't mean we've given it up.
