The exact attachment width you need depends heavily on the type of application: Rear Backhoe Bucket Options Trenching & Utility Buckets: Available in 12", 16", 18", 24", 30", and 36" widths . The 24-inch Universal bucket was the most common standard option included from the factory. Heavy-Duty/High-Capacity Excavating: Typically utilizes 24" to 36" widths to balance bucket capacity with the machine's 14,718 lb bucket digging force. [ 1 ] Ditching & Clean-Up Buckets: Available in wider sizes up to 48 inches or 60 inches . These are wider, shallow buckets without teeth (or with smooth bolt-on edges) used specifically for grading and slope cleaning.
